“Wait, we’re actually going to do this?” “Yes!”
We're Davis, Carson, and Benjamin, the beekeeping buddies behind Macon Made Honey! It's hard to believe we have been friends for over fifteen years, sharing hobbies, adventures, and jokes along the way.
Looking back, it's been a wild ride, but also incredibly rewarding. We've seen firsthand the inner workings of the beehive, how these fascinating creatures live, and the vital role they play in our ecosystem.
That's why sustainable practices are at the heart of Macon Made Honey. We use eco-friendly hives and let our bees roam free, gathering nectar from the wildflowers that paint our Georgia landscape with vibrant colors. It might mean a little less honey per hive, but the resulting product is pure magic. Raw, unfiltered, and packed with the unique flavors of our local flora – it's a taste of Macon in every jar.
But Macon Made Honey isn't just about the honey. We want to share our passion for these incredible insects with everyone we meet. We started this blog to demystify beekeeping, and we love answering questions at farmers markets as well as sharing information with those who wish to learn how to start an apiary of their own.
We know the community is the heart of our business, so we started with giving back in mind. Therefore, we are committed to donating 10% of our proceeds to local charities like Backpack Ministry and Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful. They help protect our environment while also supporting food security in our schools.
The best part? Seeing the look on someone's face when they learn something new about bees, or taste the difference real, raw honey can make. It fuels our excitement and reminds us why we started this beekeeping adventure in the first place.
So, from our beehives to your table, thank you for supporting Macon Made Honey. You're not just getting a jar of sweetness, you're contributing to a healthier planet, one busy bee at a time.
